Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately lay bricks, concrete blocks, stone, and other masonry units to construct or repair walls, foundations, arches, and other structures.
  • Mix mortar, concrete, and other masonry compounds according to specified ratios and consistency.
  • Cut and trim masonry units to size using power and hand tools.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine materials required and methods of installation.
  • Ensure all work meets quality standards, building codes, and project specifications.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety regulations and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Collaborate effectively with other construction team members, including carpenters, plumbers, and electricians.
  • Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure their proper functioning.
  • Erect and dismantle scaffolding as required, ensuring safety guidelines are followed.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a Mason or Masonry Worker.
  • Exceptional proficiency in bricklaying, block laying, and stone masonry techniques.
  • Thorough knowledge of construction materials, tools, and equipment used in masonry.
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
  • Strong physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy materials.
  • High level of attention to detail and precision in all tasks.
  • Commitment to worksite safety and adherence to all regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Vocational training or certification in masonry or a related construction trade.
  • Experience working on large-scale commercial or public infrastructure projects.
  • Basic first aid certification.
  • Valid driver's license.
