Key Responsibilities
- Accurately lay bricks, concrete blocks, stone, and other masonry units to construct or repair walls, foundations, arches, and other structures.
- Mix mortar, concrete, and other masonry compounds according to specified ratios and consistency.
- Cut and trim masonry units to size using power and hand tools.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine materials required and methods of installation.
- Ensure all work meets quality standards, building codes, and project specifications.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety regulations and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate effectively with other construction team members, including carpenters, plumbers, and electricians.
- Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure their proper functioning.
- Erect and dismantle scaffolding as required, ensuring safety guidelines are followed.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a Mason or Masonry Worker.
- Exceptional proficiency in bricklaying, block laying, and stone masonry techniques.
- Thorough knowledge of construction materials, tools, and equipment used in masonry.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy materials.
- High level of attention to detail and precision in all tasks.
- Commitment to worksite safety and adherence to all regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Vocational training or certification in masonry or a related construction trade.
- Experience working on large-scale commercial or public infrastructure projects.
- Basic first aid certification.
- Valid driver's license.
