Job Description
Club Med La Plantation d’Albion is searching for a passionate and skilled Cook to join our dynamic kitchen team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in preparing high-quality meals that consistently delight our guests, adhering strictly to Club Med’s renowned culinary standards and exacting specifications. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present a variety of dishes according to Club Med's precise recipes and rigorous quality standards.
- Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner, to the highest standards of taste, quality, and presentation.
- Maintain a scrupulously clean, organized, and hygienic workstation and overall kitchen area at all times, strictly adhering to HACCP guidelines and local health codes.
- Assist with comprehensive inventory management, including accurate receiving, proper storage, and diligent rotation of food supplies to minimize waste.
- Collaborate effectively and professionally with the Head Chef, Sous Chefs, and other kitchen staff to ensure seamless and efficient kitchen operations.
- Monitor food quality and freshness vigilantly, ensuring proper storage, correct temperatures, and minimizing spoilage and waste.
- Adhere strictly to all national and international food safety and sanitation regulations and best practices.
- Contribute constructively to menu development and improvement processes where applicable, offering creative input.
- Operate all kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, performing routine maintenance and reporting any malfunctions promptly.
- Handle special dietary requests and allergies with utmost care, precision, and adherence to specific protocols.
- Actively participate in daily kitchen briefings and contribute to fostering a positive, respectful, and high-performance team environment.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 2 years) as a Cook in a high-volume restaurant or hotel kitchen environment.
- In-depth knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, kitchen equipment, and culinary procedures.
- Strong understanding and practical application of food safety and sanitation principles (HACCP certification preferred).
- Ability to work efficiently, calmly, and effectively under pressure while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.
- Good organizational and time management abilities, with a capacity to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Demonstrated creativity, innovation, and genuine passion for culinary arts.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and perform duties in a dynamic kitchen setting.
- Fluent in English; a working knowledge of French or Mauritian Creole is a significant advantage.

- A formal culinary degree or equivalent professional certification from a recognized institution.
- Previous experience in an international resort or a reputable hotel chain.
- Familiarity with Mauritian cuisine and a broad range of international dishes.
