Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all day-to-day on-site construction activities, ensuring projects adhere to design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Supervise and coordinate construction teams, sub-contractors, and suppliers, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, monitor progress against milestones, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with building codes, health and safety standards, and environmental requirements.
- Identify and resolve on-site technical issues and challenges promptly, minimizing delays and cost overruns.
- Prepare daily and weekly progress reports, including labor, materials, equipment, and safety metrics for project management.
- Ensure efficient utilization of resources, including manpower, materials, and machinery.
- Implement and enforce site-specific safety plans and conduct regular toolbox talks.
- Maintain accurate site documentation, including drawings, specifications, variations, and communication logs.
- Liaise effectively with clients, consultants, and local authorities to ensure smooth project execution.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in site supervision for building construction projects.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering residential, commercial, or mixed-use building projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and relevant building codes and regulations in Kenya.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in project scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and basic office applications.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
- Thorough understanding of construction safety practices and procedures.
- Problem-solving aptitude with a proactive approach to issue resolution.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Building Technology, or a related field.
- Professional certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP, Prince2) or Construction Safety.
