Key Responsibilities
- Read and accurately interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine layout and dimensions.
- Lay out, measure, and mark metal stock to be cut, shaped, and drilled.
- Operate manual and automated fabrication machinery, including shears, brakes, punches, and rolls.
- Perform various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Stick) to assemble components with high precision.
- Inspect finished products for quality control, ensuring adherence to specifications and industry standards.
- Grind, sand, polish, and clean fabricated products as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering strictly to all safety protocols and procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to meet project deadlines.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and identify issues requiring repair.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing practices.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Fabricator or Welder in a manufacturing/industrial setting.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
- Demonstrated expertise in various welding processes (MIG, TIG, Stick) and metal fabrication techniques.
- Strong understanding of metal properties and material handling.
- Ability to operate a variety of hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
- Excellent spatial reasoning and mathematical skills for precise measurements.
- Commitment to workplace safety and experience with safety protocols.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
