Job Description
Aldar Properties is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Facility Repair Technician to join our dynamic Facilities Management team in Abu Dhabi. In this essential role, you will be the backbone of our operational excellence, ensuring the continuous functionality and pristine condition of our diverse portfolio of properties, which includes residential communities, commercial spaces, and retail centers. Your expertise will be crucial in performing a wide array of maintenance and repair tasks, directly contributing to the comfort, safety, and satisfaction of our residents and tenants.
We are looking for an individual with a strong foundation in general building maintenance, coupled with specialized knowledge in at least one key trade (e.g., electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or carpentry). The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and possess an excellent problem-solving aptitude, capable of diagnosing issues quickly and executing effective, lasting repairs. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on building systems and components, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Respond promptly to service requests and emergency breakdowns, diagnosing issues, troubleshooting faults, and executing timely repairs.
- Conduct general carpentry, painting, plastering, and masonry work as needed to maintain property aesthetics and structural integrity.
- Inspect facilities regularly to identify and address potential maintenance issues before they escalate, ensuring a proactive approach to facility upkeep.
- Operate and maintain a variety of hand and power tools, ensuring their proper use and storage.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, company policies, and local regulations during all repair and maintenance activities.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work performed, materials used, and time spent on tasks.
- Collaborate effectively with other technicians, facility managers, and external contractors to ensure seamless operations.
- Provide excellent customer service to residents and tenants, addressing their concerns courteously and efficiently.
- Assist in the setup and dismantle of equipment or furniture for special events or property modifications.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Facility Repair Technician or similar maintenance role.
- Solid understanding of general maintenance processes and methods.
- Proficiency in at least one skilled trade (e.g., electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or carpentry).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting effectively with diverse individuals.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, lift heavy objects, and work in various weather conditions.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical diploma or certification in a relevant trade (e.g., Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing).
- Valid UAE driving license.
- Experience working within large-scale residential, commercial, or mixed-use developments.
- Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Bilingual proficiency (English and Arabic).
