Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular patrols of designated areas, both interior and exterior, to prevent and detect signs of intrusion, damage, or other hazards.
  • Monitor surveillance equipment, access control systems, and alarms, promptly responding to any suspicious activities or emergencies.
  • Enforce company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance by all personnel and visitors.
  • Control access to the facility, verifying credentials, logging visitors, and issuing passes as required.
  • Respond to alarms, disturbances, and incidents, assessing situations and taking appropriate action, including contacting emergency services when necessary.
  • Prepare accurate and detailed incident reports, daily activity logs, and other documentation.
  • Provide assistance and direction to employees and visitors, ensuring a welcoming yet secure environment.
  • Identify and report safety hazards, maintenance issues, and security breaches.
  • Conduct searches as per company policy and legal guidelines, where applicable.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times.

Required Skills

  • Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Basic computer literacy for report writing and system monitoring.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Valid Security Guard License for Alberta (or ability to obtain prior to employment).
