Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Factory Supervisor with a keen focus on quality and output to join our robust manufacturing team in Port Louis. This pivotal role involves overseeing daily production operations, ensuring that all manufacturing processes adhere to the highest quality standards while maximizing efficiency and output. The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader, responsible for guiding a team of production staff, optimizing workflow, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. You will be instrumental in monitoring production metrics, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing corrective actions to meet production targets and maintain product integrity. This role demands a proactive individual with a strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles, quality control systems, and a proven track record in a supervisory capacity within a fast-paced factory environment. Your ability to foster a positive and productive work culture, coupled with your technical expertise, will be key to driving operational excellence and contributing significantly to our company’s success. You will report directly to the Production Manager and collaborate closely with quality assurance, maintenance, and logistics teams to ensure seamless operations from raw material to finished product. Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of production personnel, ensuring optimal staffing and resource allocation.
  • Monitor production schedules, ensuring timely completion of orders while adhering to quality specifications and safety regulations.
  • Implement and enforce strict quality control measures, conducting regular inspections of products at various stages of production.
  • Identify and troubleshoot production issues, implementing corrective actions to maintain continuous workflow and minimize downtime.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate production staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning, productivity, and accountability.
  • Maintain accurate production records, including output volumes, quality deviations, and resource utilization.
  • Collaborate with the Production Manager and other departments to develop and implement process improvements and efficiency initiatives.
  • Ensure all health, safety, and environmental protocols are strictly followed within the factory premises.
  • Manage raw material inventory effectively, coordinating with procurement to prevent shortages or excess stock.
  • Prepare daily and weekly production reports, highlighting achievements, challenges, and proposed solutions.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Factory Supervisor or similar role in a manufacturing environment (minimum 4 years).
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and quality control standards.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in problem-solving and decision-making under pressure.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in an industrial setting.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and production blueprints.
  • Basic computer literacy for data entry and report generation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Production Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certification in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Fluency in both English and French.
