Job Description
Career.zycto is seeking a highly professional, reliable, and experienced Family Driver to provide residence service for a discerning family in Kiambu County, Kenya. This full-time position requires an individual with exceptional driving skills, a strong commitment to safety, and a deep understanding of discretion and confidentiality. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of family members to various destinations, including school runs, appointments, social engagements, and errands. Beyond driving, this role involves maintaining the cleanliness and operational readiness of the assigned vehicles, managing vehicle-related logistics such as fueling and servicing, and assisting with light errands as needed.
This is more than just a driving role; it requires someone who can anticipate needs, manage schedules efficiently, and uphold the highest standards of professionalism at all times. You will be an integral part of the family’s daily life, contributing to their convenience and peace of mind. Familiarity with Kiambu County roads and traffic patterns is essential, as is the ability to adapt to changing schedules and unforeseen circumstances with a calm and composed demeanor. We are looking for a candidate who values punctuality, has an impeccable driving record, and possesses excellent communication skills to interact courteously with family members and other household staff. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and punctually transport family members to various destinations as per their schedule and specific instructions.
- Maintain the cleanliness, fueling, and general upkeep of assigned vehicles, ensuring they are always in excellent condition.
- Perform routine vehicle checks (oil, water, tires, brakes, lights, etc.) and coordinate regular servicing and repairs.
- Plan efficient routes and manage time effectively to avoid delays and ensure timely arrivals.
- Assist with loading and unloading luggage, groceries, and other items as required.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and discretion regarding all family matters and activities.
- Adhere to all local traffic laws and regulations, prioritizing the safety and comfort of passengers.
- Run occasional errands and provide support for household logistics as directed.
Required Skills
- Valid Kenyan driving license with a clean driving record (Class B, C preferred)
- Proven experience as a family driver or personal chauffeur
- Excellent knowledge of Kiambu County roads, routes, and traffic conditions
- Strong defensive driving skills and a commitment to passenger safety
- Exceptional time management and organizational abilities
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and integrity
- Good communication skills (English and Swahili)
- Punctuality and reliability
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of advanced driving courses or defensive driving certification
- Experience with luxury vehicles and their maintenance requirements
- Basic vehicle mechanics knowledge for minor troubleshooting
- First Aid and CPR certification
