Key Responsibilities
- Prepare fields for planting, including tilling, fertilizing, and creating seedbeds.
- Plant seeds and seedlings manually or using basic farm machinery.
- Perform crop maintenance tasks such as weeding, thinning, pruning, and pest control.
- Operate and maintain farm equipment and tools safely and efficiently (e.g., tractors, irrigation systems, hand tools).
- Monitor crop health, identifying signs of disease, pests, or nutrient deficiencies and reporting to supervisors.
- Implement irrigation schedules and techniques to ensure adequate water supply to crops.
- Harvest crops manually or with appropriate tools, ensuring quality and minimizing damage.
- Sort, clean, and pack harvested produce for transport and storage.
- Assist with general farm maintenance, including cleaning farm facilities, repairing fences, and maintaining pathways.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations and agricultural best practices.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to achieve daily and weekly farming objectives.
