Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily farm tasks including planting, cultivating, and harvesting various crops according to seasonal schedules.
- Participate in the feeding, watering, and general care of livestock (e.g., cattle, sheep, poultry), ensuring their health, welfare, and comfortable living conditions.
- Operate and maintain basic farm machinery and equipment under supervision, including tractors, mowers, and loaders, performing routine checks and cleaning.
- Carry out general farm maintenance, including fencing repairs, cleaning barns, sheds, and other farm buildings, and ensuring the upkeep of farm grounds.
- Monitor crop and animal health, identifying any signs of disease or distress and reporting concerns promptly to senior farm staff for action.
- Assist with the preparation of produce for market, including sorting, washing, grading, and packing to ensure quality standards.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all.
- Support senior farm workers with various ad-hoc duties and projects as required, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive attitude.
