Job Description
We are actively seeking dedicated and energetic individuals to join our team as a Farm Worker for an immediate start at our Mazenod farm. This is a vital role responsible for supporting all aspects of our farming operations, ensuring the health of our crops and the efficiency of our production cycles. As a Farm Worker, you will engage in a wide variety of tasks that are fundamental to our daily operations, contributing directly to the growth and harvesting of our fresh produce. This position requires physical stamina, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a close-knit team. You will be expected to learn and adapt to various farming techniques, operate basic farm equipment, and maintain a safe working environment. Key Responsibilities
- Perform general manual labor tasks, including planting, cultivating, weeding, irrigating, and harvesting various crops.
- Operate and maintain basic farm machinery and hand tools safely and efficiently.
- Prepare soil for planting, including tilling, fertilizing, and bed preparation.
- Monitor crop health, identifying and reporting any signs of pests, diseases, or nutrient deficiencies.
- Assist with the construction and maintenance of irrigation systems, fences, and other farm infrastructure.
- Sort, clean, and package harvested produce according to quality standards.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Follow instructions from farm supervisors regarding daily tasks and schedules.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of farm buildings, equipment, and fields.
- Participate in seasonal tasks such as crop rotation, cover cropping, and soil amendment.
