Job Description

Blue Oyster Hotel is seeking a dynamic and engaging Part-Time Fashion Boutique Attendant to join our welcoming team in Kikadini, Jambiani. As a Fashion Boutique Attendant, you will be the face of our boutique, responsible for showcasing our unique collection of apparel, accessories, and local artisanal products. You will assist guests in finding the perfect item, process sales efficiently, maintain an inviting store presentation, and contribute to the overall success of our retail operations. Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist guests with a warm and friendly demeanor, providing exceptional customer service.
- Actively engage with customers to understand their preferences and provide personalized recommendations for fashion items, accessories, and local crafts.
- Process sales transactions accurately using our point-of-sale (POS) system, handling cash and card payments.
- Maintain the boutique's visual merchandising standards, ensuring products are neatly displayed, well-stocked, and the area is clean and organized.
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with receiving new merchandise, and conduct periodic stock counts.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive product knowledge, including materials, origins, sizing, and styling advice, to effectively communicate value to customers.
- Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and returns/exchanges professionally and efficiently.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures for the boutique, including cash reconciliation and security checks.
- Contribute to a positive team environment and uphold the high standards of Blue Oyster Hotel.
Required Skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong communication skills in English and Swahili (written and verbal).
- Basic mathematical skills for handling transactions and counting inventory.
- A keen eye for fashion, merchandising, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliability and flexibility to work part-time hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift light to moderate merchandise.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (6-12 months) in retail sales, particularly in fashion, accessories, or a boutique setting.
- Familiarity with local Tanzanian crafts and fashion trends.
- Proficiency in additional languages such as Italian, German, or French is a significant advantage.
- Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
