Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Fashion Design Production Assistant to join our creative team in Montreal. This pivotal role supports our design and production departments, ensuring the smooth and efficient transition of designs from concept to finished product. You will be instrumental in managing sample development, tracking production timelines, and coordinating with various stakeholders, including designers, suppliers, and manufacturers. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the design and production teams in all stages of the product development cycle, from initial concept to final delivery.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed production files, including technical specifications, bills of material, and sample tracking.
  • Coordinate the development and approval of samples (proto, fit, pre-production, TOP) with internal teams and external manufacturers.
  • Communicate effectively with domestic and international suppliers regarding material orders, production schedules, and quality control.
  • Monitor production timelines, identify potential delays, and proactively work to resolve issues to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Conduct quality checks on incoming materials and finished goods, ensuring adherence to company standards.
  • Maintain organized records of all production-related documentation, including approvals, revisions, and shipping details.
  • Support the design team with material sourcing, trend research, and preparation for design presentations.
  • Assist with inventory management and tracking of raw materials and finished products.

Required Skills

  • 1-2 years of experience in fashion production or a related field (internships count).
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, textiles, and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop (or similar design software).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and French (bilingualism preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • A proactive and problem-solving mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising, Production Management, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) software.
  • Familiarity with ethical sourcing and sustainable production practices.
  • Previous experience working with international suppliers and manufacturers.
