Career.zycto is seeking a dynamic and passionate Fashion Designer & Boutique Staff to join our vibrant team in Rutsiro, Western Province. This is a unique opportunity for a creative individual who possesses both design flair and exceptional retail instincts. You will be instrumental in bringing our boutique’s vision to life, from assisting customers in discovering their perfect style to contributing to the artistic direction of our curated collections.
As a key member of our boutique, you’ll not only engage directly with our clientele, providing expert styling advice and ensuring a memorable shopping experience, but also leverage your design skills. This includes supporting our in-house design initiatives, potentially assisting with custom orders, alterations, or contributing fresh design concepts that resonate with our brand’s aesthetic. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the boutique’s exquisite visual standards through impeccable merchandising, inventory management, and ensuring the store environment consistently reflects our commitment to luxury and creativity. Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service, styling advice, and support to clients, ensuring a personalized and memorable shopping experience.
- Manage daily boutique operations including opening/closing procedures, cash handling, and point-of-sale transactions.
- Implement and maintain visual merchandising standards to create an appealing and cohesive boutique aesthetic.
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving, tagging, displaying, and organizing merchandise.
- Support the in-house design team with concept development, sketching, pattern making, fabric selection, and garment construction as needed.
- Handle minor alterations, repairs, or customization requests for garments.
- Contribute to the boutique's social media presence and marketing efforts by generating content and engaging with followers.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting boutique environment at all times.
- Stay updated on current fashion trends, industry best practices, and competitor activities.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in fashion retail or a boutique environment.
- Strong understanding of fashion trends, styling techniques, and garment fit.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Basic proficiency in fashion design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop) or manual sketching.
- Demonstrated creativity and an eye for aesthetics.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Fluency in Kinyarwanda and English, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Merchandising, or a related field.
- Previous experience with textile selection and basic garment construction techniques.
- Experience in a luxury retail setting with a focus on high-end fashion.
