Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate directly with clients to understand their vision, preferences, and requirements for custom garments, providing expert guidance and creative input.
- Develop detailed design sketches, technical flats, and digital renderings for client approval, ensuring accuracy and aesthetic appeal.
- Source and select appropriate fabrics, trims, and embellishments, considering quality, drape, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Create comprehensive technical specifications, patterns, and production packets for seamstresses and tailors.
- Oversee the entire production process, including pattern making, cutting, sewing, and finishing, ensuring adherence to design intent and quality standards.
- Conduct fittings and make necessary adjustments to ensure a perfect fit and client satisfaction.
- Stay abreast of current fashion trends, textile innovations, and design software to continuously enhance creative output.
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines and budget constraints.
- Maintain a professional and organized design studio environment.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 4 years (48 months) of professional experience in fashion design, specifically within custom apparel or bespoke tailoring.
- Proficiency in fashion design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CLO3D or similar).
- Strong understanding of garment construction, pattern making, and textile properties.
- Exceptional sketching and illustration skills, both manual and digital.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client consultations and team collaboration.
- A compelling portfolio showcasing a range of custom apparel designs and technical proficiency.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality craftsmanship.
