Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and organize workshop materials, tools, and equipment before and after sessions.
  • Assist instructors with setting up workstations, demonstrations, and individual participant needs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment, including proper storage of supplies.
  • Provide basic technical support for sewing machines, mannequins, and other fashion-related equipment.
  • Help manage inventory of fabrics, notions, and supplies, reporting needs for replenishment.
  • Assist participants with basic techniques, material handling, or project guidance under instructor supervision.
  • Facilitate smooth transitions between workshop activities and ensure adherence to schedules.
  • Support administrative tasks related to workshops, such as registration check-ins or participant inquiries.
  • Ensure all safety protocols and guidelines are followed by participants and staff.
  • Contribute to a positive, encouraging, and engaging atmosphere for all workshop attendees.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrable interest in fashion, textiles, or creative arts.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Basic familiarity with tools and materials common in fashion or crafting workshops.
  • Physical ability to lift and move workshop materials and equipment (up to 25 lbs).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a support role within an educational, workshop, or artistic setting.
  • Basic knowledge of sewing techniques or garment construction.
  • Experience with inventory management.
  • First aid and CPR certification.
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of Inuktitut is an asset.
