Job Description
Are you a skilled and safety-conscious Field Electrician looking for a dynamic role in a vital industry? Cotabato Light and Power Company (CLPC), a proud AboitizPower subsidiary, is seeking a dedicated individual to join our operations team in Cotabato City. As a Field Electrician, you will be on the front lines, playing a crucial role in ensuring the continuous and safe delivery of electricity to our valued customers. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical distribution systems, including overhead and underground lines, transformers, switchgears, and other related equipment. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, a strong commitment to safety protocols, and the ability to work effectively in various outdoor conditions, often at heights or in confined spaces. You will respond promptly to service interruptions, perform routine preventive maintenance, conduct new service installations, and contribute to the expansion and upgrading of our electrical infrastructure. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspection, maintenance, and repair of electrical distribution lines (overhead and underground), transformers, switchgear, and other related electrical equipment.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical faults, outages, and malfunctions in a timely and efficient manner.
- Respond to emergency calls for power interruptions and restore service safely and quickly.
- Install and connect new service lines, meters, and other electrical apparatus for residential, commercial, and industrial customers.
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards (e.g., PEC, OSHA).
- Operate and maintain specialized tools, equipment, and company vehicles safely.
- Document work performed, including repairs, installations, and inspections, accurately and thoroughly.
- Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to complete complex projects and improve system reliability.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge, keeping up-to-date with new technologies and best practices.
Required Skills
- Proven experience of at least 2 years as a Field Electrician or similar role, preferably in a utility or industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems, wiring diagrams, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Proficiency in using various electrical testing tools and equipment (e.g., multimeters, ammeters, insulation testers).
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in various weather conditions.
- Excellent understanding and unwavering commitment to electrical safety procedures and practices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Valid professional driver's license (restriction code 1, 2, 3) with a clean driving record.
- Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Good physical condition and ability to lift heavy equipment and perform strenuous tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Vocational Diploma or NC II/III Certificate in Electrical Technology, Power Distribution, or a related field from a reputable institution.
- Registered Master Electrician (RME) or Registered Electrical Engineer (REE) license is a significant advantage.
- Experience with high-voltage systems and substation equipment.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Knowledge of local electrical codes and regulations specific to the Philippines (e.g., Philippine Electrical Code) and environmental health and safety standards.
