Career.zycto is exclusively partnering with a prominent organisation in Belfast to recruit a highly strategic and experienced Finance Director – Budget & Policy. This pivotal role is central to our client’s fiscal strategy, demanding an individual who can not only manage complex budgets but also proactively shape financial policies that align with organisational goals and regulatory frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive annual budgets and long-range financial forecasts.
  • Formulate and enforce robust financial policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal governance.
  • Provide strategic financial leadership and expert advice to the executive team and board on all budgetary and policy matters.
  • Lead and mentor the finance department, fostering a high-performance culture and professional development.
  • Oversee financial analysis, reporting, and modelling to support strategic decision-making and operational improvements.
  • Manage financial risks, implement control measures, and ensure the integrity of financial data.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align financial strategies with organisational objectives and departmental needs.
  • Present financial performance and policy recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, processes, and controls.

Required Skills

  • CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
  • Minimum of 10-12 years of progressive experience in finance roles, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership/director position.
  • Proven expertise in budget development, financial forecasting, and strategic planning.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, UK GAAP), and corporate governance.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with a track record of developing talent.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in financial management software and advanced Excel modelling.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration (MBA), or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in driving organisational change through financial initiatives.
  • Familiarity with financial technology (FinTech) solutions and digital transformation in finance.
