Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Finance Officer with a strong focus on accounting and reporting to join our dynamic team in Lalmatie, Flacq District. This critical role involves ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data, preparing comprehensive financial reports, and assisting in various accounting functions. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of accounting principles, exceptional analytical skills, and a commitment to precision. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
  • Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology.
  • Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting, or other tax requirements.
  • Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice.
  • Report to management regarding the finances of establishment.
  • Establish tables of accounts and assign entries to proper accounts.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Assist with internal and external audits.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial data flow and reporting.
  • Contribute to budget preparation and financial forecasting activities.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Finance Officer or similar role, specifically in accounting and reporting.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel, and financial software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, Sage).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in English and French, both written and spoken.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) partly or fully qualified.
  • Experience with IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
  • Prior experience in a large conglomerate or a diversified business environment.
