Job Description

Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly meticulous and dedicated Finance Officer specializing in Company Records to join our vibrant team in Kasarani, Nairobi. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of all our financial documentation and records. As a Finance Officer focusing on company records, you will be the custodian of our financial history, responsible for the diligent maintenance, organization, and retrieval of financial data that underpins our operational efficiency and strategic decision-making.

This position demands a professional with an unwavering commitment to detail, a strong understanding of accounting principles, and an in-depth knowledge of Kenyan financial regulations and reporting standards. You will manage a wide array of financial documents, from invoices and receipts to bank statements and payroll records, ensuring they are systematically filed, easily accessible, and compliant with both internal policies and external legal requirements. Your expertise will be vital in supporting internal and external audits by providing clear, verifiable financial trails.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, invoices, and bank statements.
  • Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and promptly in the accounting system.
  • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
  • Prepare and process payments, receipts, and other financial transactions.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, IFRS, and relevant Kenyan tax laws and regulations.
  • Support internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Manage petty cash and maintain proper records for all cash transactions.
  • Assist in payroll processing and related statutory deductions.
  • Safeguard financial documents and data, ensuring confidentiality and data security.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve financial queries and issues.
  • Regularly review and update financial filing systems to improve efficiency.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a finance or accounting role, with a focus on record management.
  • Proven proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Sage).
  • Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS).
  • Excellent data entry skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Knowledge of Kenyan tax laws and financial regulations.
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA (K) certification or actively pursuing.
  • Experience with a specific ERP system relevant to the company.
  • Prior experience in a similar role within the financial services or business support sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements for financial record management.
