Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Operations Analyst to join our dynamic finance team at Linamar Corporation’s Guelph operations. This critical role is integral to optimizing our financial processes, ensuring data accuracy, and supporting strategic decision-making across our global enterprise. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing financial data, identifying opportunities for process improvement, and implementing solutions that enhance efficiency and control within our finance operations. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth analysis of financial data, identifying trends, variances, and potential risks or opportunities.
- Streamline and optimize financial operational processes, working to automate tasks and improve efficiency through system enhancements and best practices.
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for various stakeholders, including senior management.
- Collaborate with accounting, treasury, and operational teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance with company policies and external regulations.
- Support the implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of financial systems (e.g., ERP, planning tools), acting as a key user and subject matter expert.
- Develop and maintain internal controls over financial processes to ensure data integrity and mitigate operational risks.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing analytical support and variance explanations.
- Participate in cross-functional projects aimed at improving overall business performance and financial health.
- Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and support as required by the finance leadership team.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3+ years of progressive experience in finance operations, financial analysis, or a similar role.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables, financial modeling).
- Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and operational finance processes.
- Experience with large-scale ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely to non-finance stakeholders.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional designation (CPA, CFA) or working towards one.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma principles or other process improvement methodologies.
