Key Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, payments, and reconciliations.
- Assist with daily cash management, bank reconciliations, and expense reporting.
- Support payroll preparation and processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation, both physical and digital, ensuring data integrity.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts for internal review.
- Collaborate with various departments to gather financial data and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information upon request.
- Perform general administrative duties as required to support the finance department's overall efficiency.
Required Skills
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a finance, accounting, or operations support role.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar ERP systems).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis, formulas).
- Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in data entry and financial calculations.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a busy environment.
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and financial processes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective internal and external interactions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience working in a retail or grocery environment with high transaction volumes.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and their financial implications.
