Job Description
NMB Bank Zimbabwe is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join our dynamic finance team in Gweru, Midlands Province. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and profitability assessments.
- Develop and maintain complex financial models for forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning.
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports, presentations, and dashboards for management and other stakeholders.
- Assist in the annual budgeting process and provide ongoing support for departmental budget management.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify areas for operational improvement and cost optimization.
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects as required by senior management.
- Evaluate financial data to identify potential risks and opportunities, providing recommendations for mitigation or exploitation.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal policies, and accounting standards.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather data, understand business operations, and provide financial insights.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in financial analysis or a similar role.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting techniques.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, complex formulas).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certification such as CFA, ACCA, CIMA, or similar.
- Master's degree in Finance or Business Administration (MBA).
- Experience with financial planning software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Sage Pastel).
- Knowledge of the banking or financial services industry.
