Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Reporting Assistant to join our growing team in Inhassunge, Zambezia Province. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS/GAAP).
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, and other financial records, resolving any discrepancies promptly.
  • Support the finance team during month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Assist in the preparation of audit schedules, supporting documentation, and liaise with external auditors as required.
  • Prepare and post journal entries accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate effectively with various departments to gather and verify necessary financial data.
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation for compliance and auditing purposes.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial reporting processes and internal controls.
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting tasks as assigned by the Finance Manager.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
  • Solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous approach to data.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as a collaborative member of a team.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English and Portuguese.
  • Familiarity with financial reporting software or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related business field.
  • 1-2 years of practical experience in a financial reporting, accounting, or audit role.
  • Prior experience with a major ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Knowledge of Mozambican tax regulations and local financial compliance requirements.
  • Progress towards a professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CIMA).
