Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Fire Safety Advisor to join our growing team in Laim, Munich. In this critical full-time role, you will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive fire safety strategies across various projects and facilities. Your expertise will ensure strict adherence to local and international fire safety regulations, protecting both people and property.

As a Fire Safety Advisor, you will be responsible for conducting thorough risk assessments, designing robust fire prevention plans, and ensuring all emergency procedures are meticulously documented and regularly updated. You will play a pivotal role in creating a culture of safety by delivering engaging training programs to employees, contractors, and stakeholders, fostering a proactive approach to fire prevention. This position demands a keen eye for detail, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and a profound understanding of fire detection, suppression systems, and evacuation protocols.

Your day-to-day will involve collaborative work with various departments, providing expert advice on construction projects, renovation plans, and operational changes to ensure fire safety considerations are integrated from the outset. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive fire safety policies, procedures, and emergency plans in accordance with German and EU regulations.
  • Conduct regular fire risk assessments, audits, and inspections of premises, identifying potential hazards and recommending appropriate control measures.
  • Design and deliver engaging fire safety training programs for all employees, contractors, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Advise on the selection, installation, and maintenance of fire detection and suppression systems, ensuring compliance and effectiveness.
  • Investigate fire incidents or near misses, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventative actions.
  • Liaise with external regulatory bodies, fire departments, and emergency services.
  • Maintain accurate records of fire safety equipment, inspections, training, and incident reports.
  • Provide expert guidance on fire safety aspects for new construction projects, renovations, and facility modifications.
  • Ensure all fire safety equipment, including alarms, sprinklers, and extinguishers, are routinely inspected, tested, and maintained.
  • Participate in emergency response planning and drills, evaluating effectiveness and proposing improvements.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Fire Safety Advisor or similar role in Germany.
  • In-depth knowledge of German (e.g., DIN standards) and European fire safety regulations and codes.
  • Strong understanding of fire detection, alarm, and suppression systems.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to conduct thorough risk assessments and develop effective control measures.
  • Proficiency in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Formal qualification in Fire Safety, Engineering, or a related field (e.g., Bachelor's or Master's degree).
  • Certified Fire Protection Officer (Brandschutzbeauftragter) or equivalent certification.
  • Proficiency in German (B2 level or higher) and English.
  • Experience with CAD software for reviewing building plans.
  • Familiarity with various industry-specific fire safety challenges.
  • First aid certification.
