We are looking for someone who takes initiative, possesses excellent observational skills, and is committed to upholding the highest safety standards. If you are detail-oriented, comfortable working independently during night hours, and eager to contribute to a safety-first culture, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct continuous patrols of designated areas, especially during and after 'hot work' operations (welding, cutting, grinding), to identify and mitigate fire hazards.
- Maintain a constant visual presence, actively watching for sparks, smoldering materials, smoke, or any unusual conditions indicative of fire.
- Ensure immediate access to fire suppression equipment, such as fire extinguishers and fire blankets, and verify their operational readiness.
- Be prepared to use fire suppression equipment effectively in the event of a small fire and sound alarms to alert relevant personnel.
- Monitor atmospheric conditions and communicate any changes or concerns to the Fire Watch Officer or supervisory staff.
- Maintain accurate and detailed logs of patrols, observations, and any incidents or concerns identified during the shift.
- Report all safety violations, hazards, or suspicious activities promptly to the Fire Watch Officer or site management.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Assist in emergency response procedures, including evacuation support and coordinating with emergency services if required.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to maintain high levels of vigilance and attention to detail during night shifts.
- Strong observational skills and the capacity to identify potential hazards quickly.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for accurate reporting.
- Physical fitness to conduct regular patrols and respond quickly in emergencies.
- Basic understanding of fire safety principles and emergency procedures.
- Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a security, fire watch, or safety-related role.
- Experience working in industrial, construction, or manufacturing environments.
- Completion of a fire safety training course or certification.
- Familiarity with various types of fire suppression equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
