Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test embedded firmware for new product initiatives and existing product enhancements.
  • Implement device drivers, communication protocols (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART, Ethernet, USB), and real-time operating system (RTOS) tasks.
  • Debug complex firmware issues using tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and in-circuit emulators.
  • Collaborate closely with hardware engineers, software developers, and QA teams to ensure seamless system integration and functionality.
  • Write clear, concise, and comprehensive technical documentation for firmware designs, test plans, and release notes.
  • Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring adherence to coding standards.
  • Contribute to the full product development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and architectural design to deployment and post-launch support.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in embedded systems development.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems development.
  • Strong understanding of microcontroller architectures (e.g., ARM Cortex-M, PIC, AVR).
  • Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) concepts and implementation.
  • Familiarity with hardware-software interfaces and debugging techniques.
  • Competence in using version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal, for effective technical communication.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience with embedded Linux or other higher-level embedded operating systems.
  • Knowledge of communication protocols such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, LoRa, or cellular.
  • Familiarity with test-driven development (TDD) and continuous integration (CI) practices.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for automation and testing.
  • Prior experience in IoT device development or industrial control systems.
