Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Fish Factory Cutting Assistant to join our production team in Grandin, St. Albert. Key Responsibilities
- Assist experienced fish cutters with various tasks related to processing and preparing fish, including scaling, gutting, filleting, and portioning.
- Operate and maintain cutting equipment and tools, ensuring they are clean, sanitized, and in good working condition before, during, and after shifts.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols and food hygiene standards (HACCP, GMP) to prevent contamination and ensure product safety.
- Sort and inspect fish for quality, freshness, and defects, reporting any issues to supervisors promptly.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, disposing of waste properly and efficiently.
- Assist with packaging and labeling finished fish products as required, ensuring accurate product information.
- Support inventory management by assisting with the receiving, storing, and rotation of raw materials.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to meet daily production targets and ensure smooth workflow.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management to support overall factory operations.
Required Skills
- Basic knife handling skills and a willingness to learn advanced cutting techniques.
- Ability to work efficiently in a cold, wet, and physically demanding factory environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
