Key Responsibilities

  • Greet members and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service at all times.
  • Assist members with general inquiries, facility navigation, and basic equipment usage.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the fitness center, including equipment, locker rooms, and common areas.
  • Ensure all fitness equipment is properly sanitized and in good working order, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
  • Monitor the fitness floor to ensure member safety and adherence to facility rules.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures of the fitness center.
  • Support the fitness coordinator with program setup, event preparation, and administrative tasks as needed.
  • Stock and organize supplies for the fitness center and locker rooms.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and encouraging environment for all community members.

Required Skills

  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation and a friendly demeanor.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer literacy for checking members in and light administrative tasks.
  • Proactive attitude with a strong sense of responsibility and reliability.
  • Ability to perform light to moderate physical tasks, including lifting and cleaning.
  • Fluent in Portuguese (oral and written).

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of fitness equipment and general exercise principles.
  • First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within a specified period).
  • Previous experience in a customer service, hospitality, or community-based role.
  • Familiarity with the Chibonzane, Boane community.
