As a Fitness Center Desk Assistant, you will be the heart of our front-of-house operations, responsible for managing the daily flow of the center. This includes warmly greeting members and guests, efficiently handling check-ins, and providing comprehensive information about our facility amenities, class schedules, and diverse membership options. You will also be entrusted with processing new memberships, renewals, and package purchases, ensuring all transactions are handled with accuracy and professionalism. Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet members and guests upon arrival and departure, ensuring a positive first impression.
- Efficiently check-in members, verify membership status, and update records as necessary.
- Accurately process new memberships, renewals, and package purchases using our membership software.
- Answer incoming phone calls, respond to emails, and address general inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
- Provide comprehensive and accurate information about facility amenities, class schedules, personal training options, and membership benefits.
- Handle cash and credit card transactions, ensuring accuracy and proper reconciliation at the end of each shift.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the front desk area, lobby, and common spaces.
- Assist with scheduling appointments for personal training sessions, consultations, or other services.
- Effectively resolve member concerns or complaints, or escalate them to appropriate staff members when required.
- Monitor facility access, enforce club policies and procedures to ensure a safe and respectful environment.
- Perform light administrative duties, including filing, data entry, and inventory checks, as needed.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 6 months of customer service experience (e.g., retail, hospitality, or front desk roles).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., MS Office Suite, email client, internet navigation).
- Strong organizational skills and the proven ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment.
- Demonstrated ability to handle cash and process transactions accurately and responsibly.
- A professional and positive attitude, with a genuine desire to help others.
- High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification.
