Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive research and analysis of fixed income securities and markets, including economic data, interest rate trends, and credit analysis.
- Develop and maintain complex financial models for valuation, scenario analysis, and performance attribution of fixed income portfolios.
- Monitor fixed income market developments, identify investment opportunities, and assess potential risks.
- Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and commentaries on market trends, portfolio performance, and investment recommendations.
- Collaborate with portfolio managers, traders, and research teams to support investment strategies and decision-making.
- Assist in the due diligence process for new fixed income investments and maintain ongoing surveillance of existing holdings.
- Stay abreast of regulatory changes and market best practices relevant to fixed income investments.
- Participate in client meetings and provide insights on fixed income market outlook and portfolio positioning.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior analysts, fostering a collaborative team environment.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 2 years (24 months) of experience in fixed income research, analysis, or portfolio management.
- Strong understanding of fixed income instruments, derivatives, and market mechanics.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and valuation techniques.
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with Bloomberg, Refinitiv Eikon, or similar financial terminals.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
- Ability to communicate complex financial concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Fluent in English and French (written and spoken) due to the bilingual nature of the Jonquière region.
Preferred Qualifications
- CFA designation or progress towards CFA (Levels I, II, or III).
- Master's degree in Finance or a related discipline.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis.
- Knowledge of risk management frameworks and tools specific to fixed income.
