Key Responsibilities
- Assist fleet drivers with loading and unloading cargo, ensuring secure and organized placement.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, including checking tire pressure, fluid levels, and general cleanliness.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of vehicles, including interior and exterior washing as needed.
- Assist with route planning and navigation support, ensuring efficient and timely deliveries.
- Help manage inventory of supplies and equipment carried on vehicles.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, drivers, and other team members regarding operational updates.
- Follow all safety protocols and company policies, contributing to a safe working environment.
- Support minor administrative tasks related to fleet operations, such as record-keeping or delivery confirmations.
- Operate basic material handling equipment (e.g., hand trucks, pallet jacks) under supervision.
- Report any vehicle maintenance issues or discrepancies to the fleet manager promptly.
Required Skills
- Valid Class 5 British Columbia Driver's License with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly
- Strong physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic understanding of vehicle safety and maintenance
- Punctual, reliable, and a strong work ethic
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a labour-intensive role or customer service
