Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Fleet Manager to spearhead our vehicle maintenance and staff scheduling operations in Guiseley, Leeds. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive preventative maintenance programs for all fleet vehicles.
- Manage and coordinate vehicle repairs, inspections, and servicing schedules to minimize downtime and ensure operational readiness.
- Ensure full compliance with all relevant transport legislation, health and safety regulations, and environmental standards (e.g., O licence, Driver CPC, MOTs).
- Strategically plan and optimize daily, weekly, and monthly staff schedules for drivers and operational personnel.
- Monitor fleet performance metrics, including fuel consumption, maintenance costs, and vehicle utilization, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Procure new vehicles, parts, and equipment, negotiating favorable terms with suppliers and managing inventory effectively.
- Conduct regular audits of vehicle conditions, driver logs, and operational procedures to identify areas for improvement.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of drivers and maintenance staff, conducting performance reviews and facilitating training.
- Manage fleet-related budgets, track expenditures, and provide regular reports on financial performance to senior management.
- Implement and manage telematics systems and other fleet management software to enhance efficiency and tracking.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in fleet management, vehicle maintenance, and logistics operations.
- Strong understanding of transport regulations, O licence requirements, and health & safety legislation.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in fleet management software and telematics systems.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Budget management and cost control expertise.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Valid UK Driving Licence (Class C+E preferred but not essential for management role).
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant professional qualification (e.g., CILT, CPC National/International).
- Experience with electric vehicles or alternative fuel technologies.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
- Experience in route optimization software.
