Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport passengers to their desired destinations within Kakamega and surrounding areas.
- Maintain a clean, comfortable, and well-maintained vehicle at all times, ensuring a pleasant passenger experience.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws and regulations, prioritizing passenger safety above all else.
- Assist passengers with loading and unloading luggage or other belongings as needed.
- Provide friendly, professional, and respectful customer service, ensuring passenger satisfaction.
- Utilize navigation tools and local knowledge to choose the most efficient routes.
- Manage cash and electronic payments accurately and issue receipts when required.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure operational safety and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, and earnings as per company guidelines.
Required Skills
- Valid Kenyan Driving License (Class BCE or higher)
- Clean driving record for at least the past three years
- Extensive knowledge of Kakamega town and surrounding areas
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong commitment to passenger safety and comfort
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge
- Fluency in English and Swahili (Luhya is a plus)
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of professional driving experience (taxi, ride-hailing, or commercial)
- Experience with smartphone-based navigation and ride-hailing applications
- Customer service training or experience in a client-facing role
- Defensive driving certification or equivalent advanced driving courses
- Positive attitude and a strong work ethic
