Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently deliver grocery orders to customers' homes and businesses within the Pietermaritzburg area.
- Adhere to planned delivery routes and schedules to ensure timely service.
- Handle products with care to prevent damage during transit and delivery.
- Provide exceptional customer service during every interaction, maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Verify order accuracy with customers upon delivery and handle any discrepancies professionally.
- Operate delivery vehicle in accordance with all traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Perform routine vehicle checks and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Assist with loading and unloading of delivery vehicle as required.
- Process payments or obtain signatures as per delivery procedures.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and records.
- Represent Spar's brand image positively at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid South African Driver's License (Code B or EB) with a clean driving record.
- Excellent knowledge of Pietermaritzburg and surrounding areas.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy grocery bags or boxes (up to 20kg).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Punctual, reliable, and responsible.
- Customer-focused attitude with a commitment to service excellence.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar customer-facing role.
- Matric Certificate or equivalent.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and delivery applications.
