Job Description
This role is for a highly skilled and safety-conscious Flight Dispatcher to join our client’s dynamic operations team in Prohlis, Dresden. As a pivotal member, you will be responsible for the collaborative planning, monitoring, and supervision of flights, ensuring compliance with aviation regulations, company policies, and best practices. You will work closely with pilots, air traffic control, and ground operations to optimize flight paths, manage fuel loads, assess weather conditions, and identify potential risks. Your expertise will be crucial in making real-time decisions that impact flight safety, efficiency, and passenger comfort across our client’s network. Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with flight crews in joint operational control of flights, including pre-flight planning, in-flight monitoring, and post-flight analysis.
- Prepare and disseminate flight plans, NOTAMs, weather briefings, and other essential operational information to flight crews.
- Monitor flights in progress, track aircraft movement, and provide timely updates or revised instructions due to changing conditions (weather, NOTAMs, air traffic control restrictions).
- Calculate optimal fuel requirements, considering route, payload, weather, and operational requirements.
- Assess and mitigate operational risks, making safety-critical decisions in consultation with the pilot-in-command.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all flight operations and communication.
- Ensure strict adherence to national and international aviation regulations (EASA, ICAO) and company operating procedures.
Required Skills
- Valid Flight Dispatcher license/certification recognized by EASA or equivalent authority.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Flight Dispatcher in a commercial aviation environment.
- Proficiency in flight planning software (e.g., Jeppesen, Lido) and operational control systems.
- Strong understanding of meteorology, aerodynamics, aircraft performance, and air traffic control procedures.
- Excellent command of English, both written and verbal, essential for international communication.
- Exceptional decision-making skills under pressure, with a keen eye for detail and risk assessment.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Aeronautical Science, or a related field.
- Experience with long-haul operations or specific aircraft types relevant to the client's fleet.
- Proficiency in German is a plus, though not strictly required.
- Familiarity with Safety Management Systems (SMS) and quality assurance programs.
