Job Description

Career.zycto is actively seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Food Packaging Line Operator for immediate hire at our state-of-the-art facility in Hamilton, Ontario. As a crucial member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating and monitoring automated packaging machinery to ensure the efficient and precise packaging of our diverse range of food products. This role demands a keen eye for quality, a strong commitment to safety protocols, and the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, and adjust various packaging line machinery and equipment according to production schedules and specifications.
  • Perform quality checks on packaged products, including weight, seal integrity, label placement, and date coding, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  • Load packaging materials (e.g., films, cartons, labels) onto machines and ensure a continuous supply to minimize downtime.
  • Identify and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues or production flow problems, escalating complex issues to maintenance or supervision.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, strictly following all hygiene and sanitation procedures (HACCP, GMP).
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, company policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Complete production logs and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet daily production targets.
  • Conduct pre-operational checks and post-operational cleaning of equipment.

Required Skills

  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality and safety.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform minor adjustments to machinery.
  • Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Understanding of basic math for counting, measuring, and documentation.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (6+ months) as a machine operator, line operator, or in a food packaging role.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP principles.
  • Forklift certification or experience operating pallet jacks.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and production demands.
