Job Description
Sharook Hotel is seeking a meticulous and dedicated Food Portioning Clerk to join our dynamic kitchen team in Wawi, Chake Chake. This full-time position is crucial to maintaining the high standards of our culinary offerings and ensuring efficiency in our kitchen operations. As a Food Portioning Clerk, you will play a vital role in the initial stages of food preparation, meticulously measuring, weighing, and preparing ingredients according to precise recipes and hotel standards. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately measure, weigh, and portion ingredients (e.g., meats, vegetables, starches) according to specified recipes and portion control guidelines.
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, which may include washing, peeling, cutting, slicing, and dicing.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation at all times, adhering strictly to health and safety regulations.
- Store prepared ingredients properly to ensure freshness and prevent spoilage, following FIFO (First-In, First-Out) principles.
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving, rotating, and stocking food supplies.
- Monitor ingredient levels and communicate shortages or discrepancies to the kitchen supervisor.
- Collaborate effectively with chefs and other kitchen staff to ensure a smooth flow of operations during peak hours.
- Operate basic kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, such as scales, slicers, and food processors.
- Minimize food waste through precise portioning and careful handling of ingredients.
- Adhere to all hotel policies and procedures regarding food handling, hygiene, and safety.
