Key Responsibilities

  • Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, chopping, and dicing ingredients.
  • Ensure all kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils are kept clean, tidy, and sanitised according to health and safety regulations.
  • Receive and store deliveries, checking for quality and quantity, and rotating stock effectively to minimise waste.
  • Wash dishes, pots, and pans, and maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the dishwashing area.
  • Support the culinary team in setting up and clearing down workstations before and after service.
  • Monitor food temperatures and storage conditions to comply with food safety standards.
  • Assist with basic cooking tasks under supervision, such as making simple sauces or preparing garnishes.
  • Dispose of waste correctly and efficiently, adhering to recycling guidelines where applicable.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, with a strong emphasis on hygiene and safety at all times.
