Job Description

Bokamoso Group is actively seeking a dedicated and energetic Food Production Assistant to join our growing team in Ha Motsu, Mohale’s Hoek. As a Food Production Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the daily operations of our production facility. Your primary responsibility will be to support various stages of the food production process, from ingredient preparation and processing to packaging and quality control. This includes operating and maintaining equipment, adhering strictly to food safety and hygiene protocols, and ensuring that all products meet our rigorous quality standards before reaching our customers. You will work closely with experienced production supervisors and team members, contributing to a collaborative and efficient workflow. This role requires attention to detail, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of raw ingredients, including cleaning, cutting, and weighing, according to production recipes and schedules.
  • Operate and monitor various food processing machinery and equipment under supervision, ensuring efficient and safe operation.
  • Perform packaging duties, including filling, sealing, labeling, and boxing of finished food products.
  • Adhere strictly to all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards (HACCP, GMP) to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Monitor product quality throughout the production process, identifying and reporting any deviations or issues to supervisors.
  • Maintain accurate production records, including ingredient usage, yield, and waste.
  • Clean and sanitize workstations, equipment, and production areas regularly as per company protocols.
  • Support inventory management by assisting with receiving, storing, and rotating ingredients and finished goods.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth and efficient production flow.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.

Required Skills

  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods, lift moderate weights (up to 25kg), and perform repetitive tasks.

  • Understanding and adherence to hygiene and safety practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (LGCSE/COSC).
  • Previous experience in a food production, manufacturing, or similar environment.
  • Knowledge of basic food safety principles (e.g., HACCP, GMP).
  • Ability to operate basic production machinery.
  • A food handler’s permit or willingness to obtain one.
