Key Responsibilities
- Assist in monitoring and interpreting food safety regulations (federal, provincial, local) and industry standards, ensuring internal policies are up-to-date and compliant.
- Support the maintenance and updating of comprehensive food safety documentation, including HACCP plans, SOPs, and corrective action reports.
- Conduct regular internal audits and inspections of facilities and processes to identify potential non-compliance issues and areas for improvement.
- Prepare and compile reports on food safety performance, audit findings, and regulatory updates for management review.
- Collaborate with production, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to implement and monitor food safety programs.
- Assist in coordinating and facilitating external audits by regulatory bodies and third-party certification agencies.
- Participate in training staff on food safety best practices, hygiene standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Research and stay informed about emerging food safety risks, technologies, and regulatory changes within the food industry.
- Support incident investigation and corrective action processes related to food safety deviations.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in understanding and interpreting complex regulatory texts (e.g., CFIA, MAPAQ regulations).
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail for documentation and record-keeping.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and French (bilingualism preferred for Quebec).
