Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Food Technologist specializing in Production Analysis to join our team in Nairobi. In this crucial role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the quality, safety, and efficiency of our food production processes. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive quality control checks on incoming raw materials, in-process samples, and finished food products using various analytical techniques.
- Perform sensory evaluations and physical, chemical, and microbiological analyses to ensure product specifications are met.
- Monitor and optimize production processes, identifying deviations, root causes, and implementing corrective actions to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Develop, review, and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for quality control and production analysis.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all test results, analyses, and quality incidents, preparing reports for management.
- Collaborate with production, R&D, and quality assurance teams to resolve quality issues and support new product development and scale-up.
- Ensure compliance with local and international food safety regulations (e.g., KEBS, HACCP, ISO 22000) and company quality policies.
- Provide technical support and training to production staff on quality control measures and best practices.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related scientific field.
- Proven experience (minimum 2 years) in a food manufacturing or processing environment, specifically in production analysis or quality control.
- Strong understanding of food chemistry, microbiology, and processing technologies.
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques and equipment for food analysis.
- Familiarity with food safety management systems (HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for reporting and collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Food Science or a related field.
- Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis software.
- Certification in HACCP or internal auditing for food safety management systems.
