Key Responsibilities
- Operate counterbalance and/or reach forklifts safely and efficiently to load, unload, and move materials within the loading dock and warehouse.
- Perform daily pre-operation safety checks on forklift equipment and report any defects or maintenance requirements promptly.
- Accurately pick, stack, and stage products for shipping or storage, ensuring correct product identification and quantity.
- Load and unload lorries and other vehicles, ensuring secure handling of goods and adherence to loading procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment, including the loading dock area and storage aisles.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock rotation as required, contributing to accurate stock management.
- Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations at all times.
- Collaborate effectively with warehouse staff, supervisors, and truck drivers to ensure seamless operations.
Required Skills
- Valid and in-date Forklift Operator Certification (e.g., Counterbalance, Reach Truck)
- Minimum of 1 year (12 months) of demonstrable experience as a Forklift Driver in a busy warehouse or loading dock environment
- Proven understanding and adherence to health and safety regulations and procedures
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling goods and documentation
- Physical stamina and ability to perform manual handling tasks as needed
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Reliability and a strong work ethic
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory tracking software
- Ability to operate multiple types of forklift equipment
- Basic computer literacy for data entry and record-keeping
