Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our bustling warehouse team in Roundhay, Leeds. This pivotal role involves the efficient and safe movement of goods, materials, and products throughout our state-of-the-art facility. You will work closely with the warehouse management system, utilising RF scanners to accurately track inventory and maintain impeccable record-keeping. Key Responsibilities
- Operate various types of forklifts (counterbalance, reach, etc.) safely and efficiently to move, stack, and retrieve products.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles with incoming and outgoing goods, ensuring accurate documentation and proper handling.
- Receive, store, and distribute materials and products within the warehouse, ensuring correct placement and optimal space utilization.
- Utilise RF scanners and warehouse management systems for accurate inventory tracking, cycle counting, and record-keeping.
- Conduct daily pre-shift inspections of forklifts and other equipment, reporting any malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, health regulations, and operational procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Assist with general warehouse duties, including order picking, packing, stock replenishment, and maintaining a clean and organised workspace.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks.
- Identify and report any damaged products or discrepancies in inventory counts.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
Required Skills
- Valid and in-date Forklift Operating License/Certification (e.g., Counterbalance, Reach Truck)
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a fast-paced warehouse or logistics environment
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and best practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in tasks
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects when required
- Basic computer literacy for using warehouse management systems and RF scanners
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with a variety of forklift types (e.g., VNA, PPT)
- Familiarity with inventory management software (e.g., SAP, WMS)
- Experience in receiving, picking, packing, and dispatch processes
- First Aid certification is a plus
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement
