Career.zycto is partnering with various clients in the Bridgeport, Portmore area, and beyond, to source a talented and dedicated Freelance Events & Commercial Photographer. This exciting role offers the opportunity to capture high-quality images for a diverse range of events, including corporate gatherings, private celebrations, product launches, marketing campaigns, and more. As a freelance photographer, you will be responsible for bringing our clients’ visions to life through compelling visual storytelling, adapting your style and technique to suit each unique assignment. This is more than just taking pictures; it’s about freezing moments in time, highlighting key details, and delivering professional imagery that exceeds expectations and resonates with target audiences. You’ll work on an assignment basis, providing flexibility and the chance to build a varied and impressive portfolio. We are looking for an individual with a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of lighting and composition, and the technical proficiency to operate professional-grade equipment. Key Responsibilities
- Consult with clients to understand their specific photographic needs and creative vision for each project.
- Plan and prepare for shoots, including equipment setup, location scouting, and shot list development.
- Capture high-quality, professional photographs at various events (e.g., corporate functions, social gatherings, product launches).
- Conduct commercial photo shoots for products, services, and marketing materials, adhering to brand guidelines.
- Utilize advanced photography techniques, including lighting, composition, and posing, to achieve desired results.
- Perform post-production tasks such as culling, editing, retouching, and color correction using industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop).
- Ensure all images are delivered on time, in the required formats, and to the client's satisfaction.
- Maintain and care for photographic equipment, ensuring it is always in optimal working condition.
- Manage project timelines, communication, and client expectations throughout the entire photographic process.
- Actively seek feedback and continuously improve photographic skills and technical expertise.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an Events and/or Commercial Photographer (portfolio required).
- Expertise in operating professional DSLR/mirrorless cameras and various lenses.
- Proficiency in advanced lighting techniques, both natural and artificial (strobes, flashes).
- Strong command of photo editing software, particularly Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.
- Excellent understanding of composition, color theory, and visual storytelling.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for client interaction.
- Reliable transportation to various shoot locations within Bridgeport, Portmore, and surrounding areas.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree or certification in Photography, Visual Arts, or a related field.
- Experience with videography and video editing is a plus.
- Knowledge of current photography trends and marketing best practices.
- Active professional network within the Jamaican creative or business community.
