Key Responsibilities
- Translate a variety of content (documents, reports, marketing materials, technical texts) from English to Kinyarwanda and vice versa, maintaining original meaning, context, and tone.
- Ensure linguistic accuracy, cultural appropriateness, and grammatical correctness in all translated materials.
- Adhere strictly to project-specific glossaries, style guides, and client instructions.
- Meet established deadlines consistently while maintaining high-quality output.
- Utilize translation memory (TM) and terminology management tools effectively to ensure consistency and efficiency.
- Conduct thorough research and consultation on specialized terminology to ensure precision.
- Proofread and self-revise translations to eliminate errors and ensure natural flow.
- Communicate proactively with project managers regarding any challenges or clarifications needed during translation projects.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of all client information and project materials.
Required Skills
- Native-level proficiency in Kinyarwanda and exceptional fluency in English.
- Proven experience in professional translation (English to Kinyarwanda and Kinyarwanda to English).
- Strong understanding of cultural nuances and linguistic specificities of both languages.
- Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in CAT tools (e.g., Trados, MemoQ, Smartcat) or willingness to learn.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
