Chukka Caribbean Adventures is seeking dynamic and engaging Freelance Tour Guides to join our passionate team in Rose Hall, Montego Bay. As a Freelance Tour Guide, you will be the face of Chukka, responsible for delivering exceptional, informative, and entertaining tours. Key Responsibilities
- Lead engaging and informative tours, providing historical, cultural, and natural insights of Jamaica.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all tour participants throughout the duration of the activity.
- Maintain a professional, enthusiastic, and welcoming demeanor at all times.
- Manage tour logistics, including timing, group movement, and adherence to planned itineraries.
- Handle questions and concerns from guests efficiently and courteously.
- Adapt tour narratives and routes as necessary due to unforeseen circumstances or guest interests.
- Conduct pre-tour briefings, ensuring guests understand safety protocols and activity expectations.
- Provide exceptional customer service, aiming to exceed guest expectations on every tour.
- Promote a positive image of Chukka Caribbean Adventures and the destination.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal communication and public speaking skills in English.
- In-depth knowledge of Jamaican history, culture, geography, and natural attractions, especially around Montego Bay and Rose Hall.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and connect with diverse groups of people.
- Proven ability to manage groups effectively and ensure guest safety.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to think quickly on your feet.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays, as per tour schedules.
- Valid Jamaican Driver’s License (Class B or higher, depending on tour type).
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in First Aid and CPR.
- Fluency in additional languages (e.g., Spanish, German, French).
- Experience in the tourism or hospitality industry, particularly as a tour guide.
- Knowledge of local flora and fauna, and an interest in eco-tourism.
- A passion for outdoor activities and adventure.
