Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage international and domestic freight movements (air, sea, road, rail).
  • Prepare, process, and manage all necessary shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading, Air Waybills, customs declarations, and commercial invoices.
  • Liaise effectively with clients, carriers, customs brokers, overseas agents, and warehouses to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
  • Track and trace shipments proactively, providing regular updates and accurate status reports to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Negotiate freight rates and services with various carriers to optimise costs and service levels.
  • Resolve shipping discrepancies, delays, and customer inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all international shipping regulations, customs requirements, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within the freight management system.
  • Generate performance reports on shipment activities and contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in freight forwarding or logistics coordination.
  • Solid understanding of international shipping processes, incoterms, and customs procedures.
  • Proficiency in freight management software and advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective client and stakeholder interaction.
  • Strong organisational skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related field.
  • Experience with Australian customs declaration systems (e.g., ICS).
