Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently load and unload freight from trucks, containers, and other vehicles.
- Sort, scan, and stage incoming and outgoing shipments accurately.
- Verify cargo against shipping documents for discrepancies or damages.
- Operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, and potentially forklifts (if certified) safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and security regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or damaged goods immediately.
- Assist with inventory counts and other warehouse duties as required.
Required Skills
- Proven physical ability to lift, push, and pull heavy items repeatedly (up to 25kg).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling goods and documentation.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic warehouse environment.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Basic literacy and numeracy for reading labels and completing paperwork.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Commitment to workplace safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (6+ months) in a warehouse, logistics, or freight handling role.
- Valid forklift operator certification (e.g., counterbalance, reach truck) is highly advantageous.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or scanning equipment.
- Understanding of freight loading and securing best practices.
