ZanCargo Logistics is searching for an enthusiastic Freight Logistics Trainee to join our vibrant team in Fumba Town, Zanzibar. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the accurate preparation and diligent processing of all shipping documentation, including bills of lading, airway bills, customs declarations, and commercial invoices.
- Proactively track and trace shipments across various transport modes, providing consistent and timely updates to internal teams and valued clients.
- Actively learn and meticulously apply customs clearance procedures, assisting with the compilation of necessary paperwork and facilitating effective liaison with customs authorities.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with freight forwarders, carriers, warehouses, and clients to ensure seamless operations and timely, efficient deliveries.
- Provide essential support to senior logistics coordinators in resolving operational issues, addressing discrepancies, and responding promptly to customer inquiries.
- Maintain accurate and organized records and databases of all shipments, ensuring data integrity, confidentiality, and easy accessibility.
- Actively participate in internal training sessions and external workshops to enhance knowledge of logistics regulations, industry best practices, and company-specific procedures.
- Perform general administrative tasks to support the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the logistics department as needed.
Required Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English (proficiency in Swahili is a significant advantage).
- Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, particularly the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as an integral part of a collaborative team.
